2001 National Capital Business Ethics Award!!!!!!!!

Earlier in the month, ENCORE was among six (6) local companies selected as finalists for the 2001 National Capital Business Ethics Award - sixty companies were nominated to compete in three categories based on size. We are delighted to announce that ENCORE is now a finalist in the small business category!

Presented by the Greater Washington and Northern Virginia Chapters of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, awardees are businesses outside the financial services industry, which exemplify a strong commitment to business excellence and to the highest standards of civic and social responsibility, integrity, and ethical conduct. Past recipients include Lockheed Martin, Bell Atlantic, Starbucks Coffee, and Texas Instruments.

The entries were judged by a group of highly respected independent judges according to criteria established to measure the organization’s commitment to sound ethical business practices in management philosophies and everyday operations. The panel of judges is chaired by Stephen D. Potts, formerly Director of the United States Office of Government Ethics and now Chairman of the Fellows Program for the Ethics Resource Center. Members of the judging panel include: Judge Stephen J. Swift, Senior Judge of the U.S. Tax Court; Paul Byers, Director of the Center for Ethical Concerns at Marymount University; Shannon Skousgaard, PhD, Professor of Ethics at George Mason University; and Madison Powers, JD, D.Phil, Director of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University.

ENCORE and the other finalists were honored at the Gala Awards Dinner Thursday, November 15th at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner, with the selection of three winners of the American Business Ethics Award.
